On Saturday 1 August 2026, Jones Radiology brought its people together for its Mid-Year Celebration in the Panorama Ballroom at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The night's theme was "Future is Loading". To bring that theme into the room, the event team booked Rocco as the evening's robot concierge.
Rocco wore a Jones Radiology shirt and met staff throughout the night. Jones Radiology co-published the recap with Rocco's Instagram account afterwards.

The Brief: A Concierge, Not a Gadget
The event brief, developed with event manager Susan Hall Events, described the character Jones Radiology wanted: a warm, welcoming and polished host with a slightly cheeky sense of humour. The robot should create natural interactions and memorable moments woven through the evening, rather than one stunt.
Rocco's greetings were scripted around the event:
- Welcomes for arriving guests to the Mid-Year Celebration
- Playful reminders about the evening's themed sunglasses
- Light, self-aware humour, including that his dance moves were "still under review"
- Personal touches, such as acknowledging guests he had already met earlier in the night
How the Night Was Planned
The final run sheet built Rocco into the evening at the moments with the most energy:
- Arrivals. Rocco was positioned at the ballroom entrance as doors opened, greeting staff as they arrived.
- Sunglasses activation. A themed photo moment with the event photographer.
- Dance floor. A planned dance-floor moment as the party got going.
- Photobooth. Rocco joined the photobooth for guest photos.

Between these moments, Rocco roamed the room with his operator, meeting guests, shaking hands and posing for photos.
Why It Worked for a Staff Celebration
- It matched the theme. For a celebration called "Future is Loading", a humanoid robot made the idea something staff could walk up to.
- It suited a big room. In a ballroom full of staff, a roaming robot reaches people across the whole floor, not just at one station.
- It gave the photographer moments to capture. Planned photo moments meant the event team came away with content for internal comms and social media.
- It was branded to the client. Rocco in a Jones Radiology shirt made the robot part of the celebration rather than a hired novelty.
Planning a Robot for Your Staff Party or End-of-Year Event
- Share your theme and run sheet early so greetings and photo moments can be scripted around them.
- Work with your event manager. Rocco's operator coordinates with the venue AV team and event manager on rehearsal, positioning and timing.
- Choose high-energy moments: arrivals, the first dance-floor push and the photobooth rush.
- Send branded clothing if you want Rocco in your company colours.
